I'm fighting now each day do find a better way to be sustained.
I'm writing now today to live a life that's still unnamed.
Each morning now I rise and fall and often lose to apathy.
It's easier to live one's life sunk in a chair, a cup of tea.

Oh but run through these endless fields
and break out the life that I need.
Oh and shatter these windows that shield
My soul from a world that can bleed.

But stagnancy in me has done away with loyalty and shame,
And tendencies in me have won. Today I mostly avoid pain.
I want more and more from life you see but lazily I stagger now.
Now's the time, escape these fields, shatter these bars, escape this town.

and break out the life that I need.
Oh and shatter these windows that shield
My soul from a world that can bleed.

Tonight I'll sleep away the day. Today I'll drink away the night.
These rolling hills around this town resemble bars that pin me down.
The chaff it blows it chokes me so. The snake it wrings around my neck.
It's time today to blow away like leaves and trees and set me free.
